Our 2010 Alaska cruise began in Seattle, where we explored Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, and the waterfront before boarding the Zaandam. The journey took us through some of Alaska’s most dramatic scenery, from the glaciers of Glacier Bay to the historic ports of Juneau, Sitka, and Ketchikan. Highlights included whale watching with humpbacks and killer whales, bald eagles, sea lions, calving glaciers, rough seas, colorful waterfront towns, and unforgettable sunsets. After the cruise, we crossed to Bainbridge Island for a quiet stay on the water, with views of the Seattle skyline, local markets, beach walks, and relaxed evenings with family and friends.
